Bullfighting is a questionable sport, but I do feel that it is acceptable, based on history. The thing that I feel is unfair is that the bulls are weakened before the fight. Or, at least with the bullfight I attended, they were. If a man has such weapons against it, the bull should be at full strength. The bullfighters know what risks they face when they step into the ring.
It strikes me that people don't really have a problem with cruelty to animals, they just don't want to see it. Anyone that enjoys a nice juicy steak certainly has no right to protest bullfighting. It is a long tradition in Spanish culture, and unless a person is a true-blue, died in the wool vegetarian they have no right to judge the sport.
Bullfighting has been around for a long time, and is something Spanish culture thrived on. While it's not as popular now, it is still very important in keeping a memorable part of Spanish life and tradition alive. It's similar to other sports we have in this day, such as rodeo and fighting, and there's no legitimate reason it shouldn't still be around.
I believe it makes a good amount of money in entertaining people and ca contribute to a wide audience. A lot of television has been showing stuff that doesn't make any sense like hunting and showcasing game shows that are boring to watch. Bullfighting is like UFC and can ultimately profit good and make people excited and it isn't that bad of a sport.
Bullfighting is an acceptable modern day sport. All sports have risks. People are always getting injured in other sports such as football, soccer, tennis, baseball and basketball. Rodeos are just as deadly as bullfighting, and yet we continue to praise and go to them . All sports are dangerous to some degree; that's what makes them interesting.
Bullfighting may see like a barbaric sport but if a bull truly feels threatened then he will attack. Bull fighter are trained and practice for years to become skilled at their craft. I really feel its an art form and while injuries can happen, the intent of bull fighting is not to kill a bull. We slaughter cows for meat everyday, and I have never seen a bull die in a bull fight.
Bullfighting is a barbaric and horrific sport. It should not even be called a sport. To inflict pain and death on a defenseless animal is not a sport. The fact that this "sport" is still considered popular is a poor sign for the state of the world. The bull is attacked and stabbed. It is afraid and trying to protect itself. This so-called sport sickens me and it should be outlawed. It just shows that we are not truly civilized. We still have a long way to go.
Actually, I don't view bullfighting as ever being an acceptable sport. The idea of killing an animal for the viewing pleasure of a crowd strikes me as disgusting. I don't doubt that it is thrilling to see the matador preen and taunt the bull, but the final act of killing makes the idea repulsive and unacceptable to me.
Bullfighting involves the use of a bull, which is tortured through the use of spears and is eventually slaughtered. This inflicts unnecessary pain into an otherwise mild-mannered animal and induces rage. If you're hungry, then kill it humanely. There is no need to taunt and torture an animal. If it is truly entertaining to watch taunting and death, then at least use humans, as they have a choice in the matter of whether or not they wish to be inhumanely treated.
People that think this is ok need to get help, what the hell animals are human being to! Think about it if you where an animal would you want this done to you!
Bullfighting is an event that started around 711 A.D. in Spain. During a bullfight a bull is released and the matadors chief assistant goes and test the bull by making it charge by using a bright red and yellow cape. Then a trumpet is sounded and men on horses called picadores ride out. the picadores drive spears into the bull for about ten minutes until the third and final trumpet is sounded. Then the matador comes out and finishes the bull. If the matador wins then he is awarded with a certain amount of body parts from the bull. The number of "trophies" the matador wins depends on his performance. Today bullfighting is much less popular and is considered a cruel blood sport by many. It is challenged by many animal rights organizations. Supporters of bullfighting argue that it is an important part of their culture and that it is an art form. They also argue that bullfighting is no more cruel then hunting and slaughtering cattle for food. I find myself agreeing with those who find it wrong. One can not justify cruelty by pointing out other acts of cruelty. Bullfighting is just one of the many inexcusable crimes that humanity has committed. Furthermore, trying to defend cruelty with tradition is just absurd. Slavery was once a popular tradition but that does not justify slavery. In conclusion, bullfighting, along with other acts of cruelty, must be stopped. Humanity can not move forward if we continue to follow such absurd traditions. We must learn to love and appreciate all life or we will forever be incapable of growth. It is our duty to come together and make the world a better place. We owe it to our selfs and to the people who dedicated their lives to protecting us and creating a better world for us to live in. See what you can do to stop bullfighting and other acts of cruelty by researching on line and finding others who work to improve te lives of all living creature.
all of you asshole who dont have the balls to have a fair fight with a bull GO GROW SOME BALLS MOTHER FUCKERS
bullfighting just isn't right. if you've ever seen the american bullfighter, it shows you what the bulls go through. why the heck would you want to do that???
The torturing and ritual killing of a sentient being for the sole purpose of enjoyment or furthering a tradition has no place in modern society. Animals feel pain and deserve compassion and their lives have inherent value. It is reasonable to humanely kill an animal for food, but to slay it for pure fun is uncivilized and counter to reason. Just as gladiator games have dissolved as our species has advanced, so should this inhumane tradition.
Bullfighting is not a sport and is NOT a TRADITION. it's the worst thing you can do. i find the people that do it phsyco. if you wouldnt want you or your family to go through that why would you let that happen to a bull. Some people die in bullfighting, or get severely hurt.
we are supposed to know wats right or grong.Bullfighting is wrong.
Humans are the more intelligent species and as such have a responsibility toward the less intelligent. To take advantage of a bull by goading it into a rage for sport or just because we can is wrong. Then to take it to the next step and kill it for no reason other than sport is just not acceptable. We should not exploit innocent animals just for fun. It is not being a good steward of our planet and it is being unnecessarily cruel.
I don't believe that bullfighting is an acceptable sport in the modern day because it is cruel to the animal and I don't think of it as a sport. Sport is typically played against an opponent (person) while this is similar to hunting which also is not a sport though I agree with that because at least people usually eat their kills and don't torture the animal.
There is no excuse for animal cruelty and calling it sport. It doesn't matter that it is a long tradition; it shouldn't be allowed in this day and age. We are in a new era of respect for all life, or at least the beginnings of this era, and any step forward will be a step in the right direction toward assuring that all creatures are protected here on earth.
Bullfighting is a cruel sport and we have came further than that as a civilization. There can be variations that would work for the modern world, and these should be acceptable. Humane treatment of animals should always be a priority in any performance that includes animals, including our circuses, zoos and wildlife parks.
Bullfighting is no better then dog fighting or cock fighting. There is no reason for a human being to cause harm to an animal without good cause. For example: when we hunt we eat the food, when we euthanize it is with cause and even when we kill rodents there is a purpose. There is no acceptable purpose in bullfighting in my opinion. The "sport" as it is called is morally unacceptable and unethical. I do feel it should be outlawed in every country.
If some countries want to keep bullfighting now, let them. But it is too bloody and you always know the outcome. There is no sport in that. There is no place for bullfighting in a civilized country. It is just too gory. I know that bulls are animals and don't have an intellect, but it is almost like an execution, just drawn out. And the audience just seems bloodthirsty.
Bullfighting is not humane it is stabbing an animal for fun. It is unfair to think that enraging a bull to this point by hurting it and then in most cases the end might involve killing it. The bull deserves more of a right then that I'm sure most of us would not like to be taunted in that way.
Bullfighting is not an acceptable sport in the modern world today because it is not longer necessity for such archaic exhibits to occur in the name of proving personal manhood. The activity of bullfighting is a gruesome and violent display of cruelty to animals in an era of history when humanity should have evolved beyond such stupidity.
Spectator sports in Ancient Rome used to include gladiator fights where humans fought each other to the death in front of cheering fans. It was a horribly barbaric sport that has long since been abandoned by all modern societies. In bullfighting, the end result is always the death of the bull, and while not as overtly barbaric as gladiator fights, it still constitutes the gratuitous killing of a living, breathing being. It is still barbaric, and should also be abandoned by the few cultures that still celebrate it.
Bullfighting should not be an acceptable sport in the modern world. During a bullfight, the bull is stabbed repeatedly with many piercing instruments until it is eventually stabbed through the heart to death. This is incredibly cruel to the bull and I really don't see how a bullfight should be viewed any differently than a dog fight. There is no place for this type of cruelty in a civilized society.
Bull fighting is not an acceptable sport in the modern day because morals and values change. It's not hunting, where the kill is supposed to be instantaneous and ideally for meat only. It's a show to slowly stab an animal to death. Yes, it has a grand tradition, but so did gladiator fights. As society changes, we need to change the things we do.
Fighting bulls was great before video games, where pixels could be shed. It's not right to kill animals for the fun of killing, and it's not a 'sport'. The bull always dies. Always. OK, on rare situations a few times in a bullfighter's life he (or rarely she) spares a bull, but what then? What kind of life after bullfight do these animals have? I like cows, personally. I want to have some. It's not right to raise them to die by inches. It offends our human dignity that this still exists.
